The adoption of telemedicine consultations and digital platforms for accessing services among providers has the potential to contribute to efficiency gains [5-7]. Scaling up and shifting to digital health care are key themes in core policy documents in Sweden and elsewhere [8,9]. What constitutes a reasonable share is debated, but 20% is often cited as a target [10]. However, uptake in primary health care in Sweden is lagging behind overall expectations.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), these advancements include improved health and well-being through the use of digital health services, often referred to as telemedicine or telehealth, which have become increasingly important [1]. Another study found that access to and use of digital technology can vary greatly among different population groups, particularly older adults and individuals with disabilities [2].

Few contemporary studies exist on the cost-effectiveness of the combined approach of nurse-led telemedicine in diabetes. However, a modeling study on patients with heart failure found that nurse-led telephone support improved survival and was cost-effective in comparison with usual care [38].

Prior analyses of this survey examined the prevalence of primary care telemedicine use [1] and parent perspectives on telemedicine [16]. This analysis specifically focused on the prevalence of reliable internet connectivity among US households with children.
Respondents were eligible to participate if they reported being a parent or guardian of at least one child 0‐17 years old in the household and responsible for making medical decisions for their child.

Telemedicine use remains above pre–COVID-19 pandemic levels, including in cardiology clinics, and patient comfort with telemedicine has increased substantially [1-5]. There is limited evidence, however, on when telemedicine can effectively substitute for in-person cardiovascular care and how telemedicine use affects overall care usage.

With strong psychometric properties and high acceptability among children and caregivers, e CARATKids has the potential to enhance telemedicine strategies and facilitate remote pediatric monitoring. Its integration into m Health platforms could further optimize disease management and contribute to improving health outcomes in pediatric asthma and allergic rhinitis care.

Among the several proposed frameworks, the Model for Assessment of Telemedicine Applications (MAST) offers a multidisciplinary assessment spanning from application characteristics and patient perspectives to economic and organizational aspects that extend beyond the traditional cost-effectiveness approach within health technology assessment [31].
