Self-Reported Side Effects Associated With Selective Androgen Receptor Modulators: Social Media Data Analysis

Self-Reported Side Effects Associated With Selective Androgen Receptor Modulators: Social Media Data Analysis

Selective androgen receptor modulators (SARMs) are synthetic androgen receptor ligands designed to have anabolic effects in muscle and bone while minimizing unwanted androgenic effects in areas like the prostate and cardiovascular system [1]. This tissue selectivity makes SARMs an attractive option for treating conditions such as osteoporosis and muscle wasting while avoiding the systemic side effects associated with traditional androgen therapies.

Effectiveness of an e-Book on Bone Health as Educational Material for Adolescents: Single-Group Experimental Study

Effectiveness of an e-Book on Bone Health as Educational Material for Adolescents: Single-Group Experimental Study

Throughout the human life span, bone modelling and remodelling are continuous and vital processes that shape bone architecture, crucially contributing to peak bone mass attainment [1]. Childhood and adolescence mark crucial periods for rapid bone growth and peak bone mass—the highest bone mineral density (BMD) attained in one’s lifetime [2]. Improving bone health during these phases yields long-term benefits, reducing the risk of bone fragility and fractures later in life [3].

Feasibility and Preliminary Efficacy of α–Calcium Sulfate Hemihydrate in Socket Preservation: Protocol for a Pilot Randomized Controlled Trial

Feasibility and Preliminary Efficacy of α–Calcium Sulfate Hemihydrate in Socket Preservation: Protocol for a Pilot Randomized Controlled Trial

Socket preservation procedures are recommended when tooth extraction significantly impacts the height of the buccal bone [9,10]. These techniques aim to minimize the biological resorption of the buccal bone, which facilitates implant placement and reduces the need for future bone augmentation procedures. Studies have shown that socket preservation techniques lead to greater bone volume compared to procedures without socket preservation [8,11].

A Computed Tomography–Based Fracture Prediction Model With Images of Vertebral Bones and Muscles by Employing Deep Learning: Development and Validation Study

A Computed Tomography–Based Fracture Prediction Model With Images of Vertebral Bones and Muscles by Employing Deep Learning: Development and Validation Study

Subsequently, 2 classes of image data, that is, vertebral body only (bone-only) and vertebral body with paravertebral muscles (bone+muscle) were extracted from each CT image. Based on the manual annotations of the vertebral body, excluding the intervertebral disc, the vertebral body regions from T12 to L4 were extracted from the CT images, where each bone-only image had 96×96 pixels in the axial plane.

Quality of Life in Children With Achondroplasia Undergoing Paired Limb Lengthening With an External Fixator and Modified Distraction Control: Observational Nonrandomized Study

Quality of Life in Children With Achondroplasia Undergoing Paired Limb Lengthening With an External Fixator and Modified Distraction Control: Observational Nonrandomized Study

Achondroplasia is a hereditary disease characterized by a deceleration in bone and cartilage growth. The term “achondroplasia” was first used in 1878 by Jules Parrott, and in 1900, the neurologist Pierre Marie first described the main features of the disease in children and adults.

Microfragmented Fat and Biphasic Calcium Phosphates for Alveolar Cleft Repair: Protocol for a Prospective, Nonblinded, First-in-Human Clinical Study

Microfragmented Fat and Biphasic Calcium Phosphates for Alveolar Cleft Repair: Protocol for a Prospective, Nonblinded, First-in-Human Clinical Study

Secondary alveolar bone grafting (SABG) is the most preferred and successful method that is usually performed during the mixed dentition period (6-11 years), which allows the provision of support to teeth eruption and facial growth [1]. The iliac crest as a bone graft donor for alveolar cleft reconstruction has gained popularity since it was first introduced by Schmid [3] in 1954, and, in particular, for SABG procedures because it allows harvesting of large amounts of bone for alveolar cleft surgery [4].

Effectiveness and Cost of Using Facebook Recruitment to Elicit Canadian Women’s Perspectives on Bone Health and Osteoporosis: Cross-Sectional Survey Study

Effectiveness and Cost of Using Facebook Recruitment to Elicit Canadian Women’s Perspectives on Bone Health and Osteoporosis: Cross-Sectional Survey Study

However, minimal data are available regarding the perspectives and preferences of Canadian women on the topics of bone health and osteoporosis prevention, limiting efforts to develop acceptable, preference-sensitive management strategies. Therefore, we sought to elicit the perspectives and preferences of Canadian women aged ≥45 years regarding bone health and osteoporosis via a web-based survey, using Facebook for recruitment.
