Associations Between Adolescent Problematic Internet Use and Relationship Problems in Chinese Families: Findings from a Large-scale Survey

The scale has good convergent validity compared with other commonly used scales (eg, Young’s Internet Addiction Test, Chen Internet Addiction Scale). Its test-retest reliability and internal consistency were also high (0.86 and 0.97, respectively), as reported in a previous study [33]. In our study, the Cronbach α for the scale was .97. This was assessed using the following 3 questions in Mandarin: verbal conflict “In the past 12 months, have you ever had a serious quarrel with your mother/father?”
