Resolving Challenges in HIV Cure–Related Research: Protocol for a Modified Delphi Consensus-Building Process

Resolving Challenges in HIV Cure–Related Research: Protocol for a Modified Delphi Consensus-Building Process

In each round, Delphi panelists received, via email: a survey link; an individually assigned 3-character participant ID (PID) number consisting of their respective group designation (A to F) and 2 digits; and a reminder of their respective study group assignment (A to F). Each survey began with video-recorded messages from the investigative team describing the overall study purpose and the round-specific instructions.

Variability in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Interstitial Cystitis/Bladder Pain Syndrome: Internet Survey

Variability in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Interstitial Cystitis/Bladder Pain Syndrome: Internet Survey

Emerging evidence suggests a potential variation in the natural history of IC/BPS across racial and ethnic groups. For instance, Black individuals with IC/BPS report a greater degree of urinary urgency compared to their White counterparts and are more likely to be diagnosed at a younger age [19,20].

Impact of Initial Cardiology Telemedicine Evaluation on Follow-Up Visits for Common Conditions: Quasi-Experimental Study

Impact of Initial Cardiology Telemedicine Evaluation on Follow-Up Visits for Common Conditions: Quasi-Experimental Study

When a new patient referral was received by the clinic, a new patient coordinator assigned the patient to the clinician with the next available NPV opening (either telemedicine or in-person). The coordinator then offered this appointment to the patient with the option to take a later appointment via an alternative modality with the same clinician if preferred. Follow-up visits were scheduled as determined by the patient and clinician during or after the first visit.

Usability Testing of an Internet-Based Responsive Parenting Program for Caregivers of Young Survivors of Childhood Cancer Living in Rural and Appalachian Communities: Mixed Methods Study

Usability Testing of an Internet-Based Responsive Parenting Program for Caregivers of Young Survivors of Childhood Cancer Living in Rural and Appalachian Communities: Mixed Methods Study

Survival rates for most types of childhood cancers have fortunately risen to over 80%, resulting in a growing cohort of nearly half a million childhood cancer survivors in the United States [1]. However, life-saving cancer treatments, such as chemotherapy and radiation, can be detrimental to a child’s development and lead to a host of chronic health needs for up to two-thirds of survivors, termed late effects [1].

Experiences With a Multicomponent Digital Behavioral Pain Management Intervention for Adults With Sickle Cell Disease: Qualitative Analysis of the CaRISMA Trial

Experiences With a Multicomponent Digital Behavioral Pain Management Intervention for Adults With Sickle Cell Disease: Qualitative Analysis of the CaRISMA Trial

The Ca RISMA trial enrolled adults with SCD who reported chronic pain (ie, pain at least 4 days a week over the past 3 months or longer). Participants of the Ca RISMA trial were recruited from 7 comprehensive sickle cell centers and from 4 community-based organizations, either virtually or in person. Participants were randomized 1:1 to either the digital CBT or Education arm. Both arms had access to a health coach and a chat system via a chatbot.

Role and Use of Race in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Models Related to Health

Role and Use of Race in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Models Related to Health

The role and use of the social construct of race within health-related artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) models have become a subject of increased attention and controversy. As noted in the National Academies’ recent report “Ending Unequal Treatment,” it is increasingly clear that race in all its complexity is a powerful predictor of unequal treatment and health care outcomes [1].

eHealth Literacy and Participation in Remote Blood Pressure Monitoring Among Patients With Hypertension: Cross-Sectional Study

eHealth Literacy and Participation in Remote Blood Pressure Monitoring Among Patients With Hypertension: Cross-Sectional Study

Hypertension has remained a public health concern in the American adult population. Hypertension, defined as systolic blood pressure (BP) ≥130 mm Hg or diastolic BP ≥80 mm Hg or both, has a prevalence of 46.7%, and control (systolic BP Over the years, several models and scales of e-HL have been proposed to measure e-HL [6-20]. There is currently no gold standard for e-HL measurement.

Data Collection for Automatic Depression Identification in Spanish Speakers Using Deep Learning Algorithms: Protocol for a Case-Control Study

This might lead to a potential bias if recordings of both classes were done in different rooms (ie, recording participants with depression in a clinic and those with depression in an office or studio) as room acoustics have a significant impact on voice recordings [18].

Validation and Acceptability of the Mobile App Version of the Control of Allergic Rhinitis and Asthma Test for Children (CARATKids): Cross-Sectional Study

Validation and Acceptability of the Mobile App Version of the Control of Allergic Rhinitis and Asthma Test for Children (CARATKids): Cross-Sectional Study

Allergic rhinitis, another common condition, often develops early in life, with a prevalence of 8.5% at ages 6‐7, rising to 14.6% in those aged 13‐14 years old [6]. The symptoms of allergic rhinitis have a profound negative impact on children’s physical and emotional health, sleep quality, and daily activities [7].

Advancing the Integration of Digital Health Technologies in the Drug Development Ecosystem

Advancing the Integration of Digital Health Technologies in the Drug Development Ecosystem

The color scheme difference for certain elements is to highlight the applicability of a subcomponent framework to a major category represented by the bigger rectangle. The reliable utilization of DHT for clinical investigation hinges highly on the verification and validation of the process used to generate the necessary data and its subsequent processing. A major component of this process is DHT-related testing and validation.
