This scoping review will follow Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) recommendations to consider the “PCC” mnemonic, whereby the letters in the acronym stand for Population, Concept, and Context, respectively, to specify which sources will be considered for inclusion [18] and provide a thick description for transferability of study results. This review will consider studies about CNEs working in acute care hospitals.

Mapping the Level of Evidence of Prenatal, Childhood, and Adolescent Exposure to Volatile Organic Compounds and Health Outcomes: Protocol for a Scoping Review

This review will follow the Joanna Briggs Institute methodology for scoping reviews and the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-Sc R) guidelines [20,21]. We will consider studies conducted on associations between exposure to the 6 VOCs of interest (benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylene, trichloroethylene, and tetrachloroethylene) and/or total VOCs and health effects in pregnant females and on the child from conception through 18 years.
