Occlusion therapy with patching, after optical adaptation with binocular eyeglass correction, has been the gold standard therapeutic approach for forcing the visual development of the amblyopic weaker eye by an input deprivation of the other sound eye since Sattler [4]. However, by patching, a high rate of patients (approximately 25% to 30%) do not show a full recovery of visual function, and some of those patients even show further worsening in visual function [5-8].
