Rasch models were estimated in Winsteps (version 5.1.1) [23], and all other analyses were conducted in SPSS (version 27; IBM Corporation) [24]. The full measure (24 items) was first analyzed using the Rasch Partial Credit Model, as response options were dichotomous and polytomous. The Rasch Partial Credit Model allows each item to have its own rating scale structure; therefore, not all items have to be on the same rating scale.

Although the eigenvalue suggested the possible presence of a second dimension (eigenvalue=2.2), evaluation of item content and amount of variance explained by the Rasch measurement model (62.5%) provided support that the 12 items were measuring a unidimensional construct.
Andrich thresholds were examined to further ensure that the rating scales for the set of intensity items and the set of frequency items were performing as expected.

A 1-parameter logistic item response theory model, the Rasch model, is a mathematical framework created to empirically analyze categorical data [12]. The Rasch model is commonly used within the health professions, social sciences, education field, and market research [9,13-16]. The Rasch perspective examines each item contained in the measure versus examining the items as a conglomerate.
