There is evidence indicating that the probability of drug use increases as people perceive little or no risk of associated harm, that is, a higher perceived risk can be considered as a protective factor against drug use [13]. A longitudinal study on risk perception toward tobacco, alcohol, and cannabis use with a 10-year follow-up reported that it reduced the probability of consumption in German adolescents aged 14 and 15 years [18].
