Testing for Hepatitis C During Pregnancy Among Persons With Medicaid and Commercial Insurance: Cohort Study

Chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection is a leading cause of liver disease and liver-related mortality in the United States. Approximately 2.4 million persons in the United States were living with chronic hepatitis C during 2013-2016 [1,2]. These patients are at increased risk of progression to liver fibrosis, cirrhosis, liver failure, hepatocellular carcinoma, and death [3].
