Objective Assessment of the Nature and Extent of Children’s Internet-Based World: Protocol for the Kids Online Aotearoa Study

In 2019, a feasibility study was undertaken with medical student participants, which demonstrated that Zoom recordings enabled the study of adults’ internet-based world [9]. Building on this, a pilot study was conducted with 5 preteens from one school in late 2020. A focus group with the children revealed that the study was well explained, easy to undertake, and enjoyable. Children were familiar with Zoom, or similar applications, from internet-based learning and communication during the COVID-19 pandemic.
