Novel Profiles of Family Media Use: Latent Profile Analysis

We hypothesized that latent profile analysis (LPA) would identify different media use profiles characterized by more reactive, heavy, individual, and permissive media use; and more intentional, regulated, or shared uses of media. We examined these patterns and their associations with parent, child, and household characteristics within a large cohort of preschool-aged children, as early childhood is an important time of establishing media use habits [13].
