Analysis of data collected in a subsequent randomized controlled trial (RCT) to evaluate GET Living in a larger sample in comparison with a traditional multidisciplinary pain management approach is still ongoing [10]. Treatment delivery in the RCT shifted to a web-based format during the COVID-19 pandemic [11], with data collection concluding in January 2022 (Simons, LE, unpublished data, January 2022).

Implementation Effectiveness of a Parent-Directed YouTube Video (“It Doesn’t Have To Hurt”) on Evidence-Based Strategies to Manage Needle Pain: Descriptive Survey Study

The effectiveness of the video was assessed via several implementation outcomes (eg, acceptability, appropriateness, penetration, and adoption) among a sample of parents and HCPs who completed a Web-based survey. A brief (2 min 18 seconds) You Tube video for parents was developed to summarize evidence-based strategies for procedural pain management in a fun and entertaining way. The video [42] is hosted on the IWK Health Centre’s You Tube channel and was released on November 4, 2013.

Commercially Available Smartphone Apps to Support Postoperative Pain Self-Management: Scoping Review

There are a growing number of generalized pain self-management smartphone apps available for users to download on their personal mobile devices. In a 2011 scoping review, Rosser and Eccleston identified 111 such apps [13]. A majority were designed for the i Phone (i Phone operating system, i OS) platform, with fewer being available for Android or Black Berry operating systems.
