Fortuna et al [35,36] found that a combination of educational training (the Digital Peer Support Certification) and management of the Peer TECH system increased peer support specialists’ capacity to use features of the digital peer support technology [35]. The training was based on adult learning theory and experiential learning theory. Adult learning theory suggests that adults learn best when they use past lived experiences and past developed skills and knowledge to enhance their learning process [37].
