Challenges and Lessons Learned in Managing Web-Based Survey Fraud for the Garnering Effective Outreach and Research in Georgia for Impact Alliance–Community Engagement Alliance Survey Administrations

Respondents were first asked to complete a series of screening questions to determine eligibility before being directed to a detailed consent form. Those who gave informed consent were then directed to a voluntary, open survey to complete a series of questions on demographics, social determinants of health, and COVID-19 beliefs and experiences (Multimedia Appendices 2 and 3).

Vaccine hesitancy is blamed for backslides in vaccination coverage in high-income countries (eg, in Europe and the Americas), where issues with vaccine availability are less of a factor in suboptimal vaccine uptake [3].

The more traffic a subreddit receives, even if it is sharing misinformation or disinformation, the higher the Reddit platform will promote it. Notably, subreddits generally have rules that community members must adhere to or risk the potential for the removal of a post or banning.

A randomized controlled trial (RCT), with a larger sample size (anticipated n=1000) and longer duration of follow-up (45 months), was proposed to evaluate behavioral efficacy of the intervention. A detailed protocol was developed that is the subject of this manuscript.
