While there are a handful of evidence-based clinical psychotherapies for CUD [16-18], approximately 85% of individuals who would qualify as having a diagnosis of CUD never receive clinical treatment [3]. Cost, geographic access, perceived social stigma, internalized stigma, and a lack of knowledge of or low belief in the efficacy of treatments are all barriers to treatment [19,20].

As described in a study by Rabbi et al [47], to develop and refine SARA, we conducted (1) a web-based survey to assess user perceptions about design features, (2) focus groups to obtain in-depth qualitative feedback on the app, and (3) a preliminary microrandomized trial (MRT; n=18) to refine app features [47-49].

For example, one study showed that more than one-third of a college student sample had seen a picture of a friend smoking cannabis posted on social media [54].
A common feature of social media use among adolescents and emerging adults is the frequent use of more than one platform, which reflects increased smartphone ownership and Wi-Fi access. As of 2018, 95% of teens reported having a smartphone or access to one, of which 45% reported they are on the Web almost constantly [55].

Focusing on physician training, a rare situation in which a dramatic increase in stress can be anticipated, provides an ideal experimental model to develop interventions for maintaining mental wellness during life and work stressors.
Our study, the 2018 Intern Health Study (IHS) [30], was a 6-month-long m Health cohort study that tracked medical interns using phones and wearables. During the internship year, we conducted a micro-randomized trial (MRT) [23].
