One of the few examples of an implementation science investigation in the domain of sexual health was the testing of a web-based program for sexual dysfunction in a Dutch public health setting. The study aimed to evaluate the implementation of a free, anonymous web-based education and self-training program for adolescents and young adults aged 16-24 years.

A subset of patients do not experience improvements in deep dyspareunia after standard care, such as hormonal or surgical interventions for endometriosis [7-11], indicating an important need for self-management approaches.
