Adolescence is a critical period in the growth and development of an individual. Thus, dietary habits during this timeframe are important in shaping future health outcomes [1]. A large proportion of adolescents worldwide do not receive optimal nutrition [2]. Typically, adolescent diets are characterized by low fruit and vegetable (FV) intake and a high intake of energy-dense, nutrient-poor foods, including sugar-sweetened drinks and fast foods [3].
