Consumer Perspectives on Maternal and Infant Health Apps: Qualitative Content Analysis
We conducted a qualitative assessment of publicly available user reviews from a sample of maternal and infant health apps available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. We followed a four-step process to create a data set of user reviews from a set of maternal and infant health apps that offer health education or decision-making support to pregnant women or parents or caregivers of infants.

The ubiquity of mobile phones offers a unique opportunity to use mobile health (m Health) for health information seeking [7]. Recently, m Health apps have gained popularity in providing pregnancy information with easy access at little or no cost, and women are increasingly using these platforms to meet information needs during pregnancy [8-11]. A large number of surveyed pregnant women and new mothers reported the use of such apps, with nearly a quarter using these apps almost daily [12].
