Modeling Patient Treatment With Medical Records: An Abstraction Hierarchy to Understand User Competencies and Needs

Ashoori and Burns [12] modeled the patient-as-an-actor approach effectively during a study of a birthing unit. The CWA showed rich coordinative points, shared artefacts and adjusting structures, and described the patient as an active partner that engaged in their own health. In particular, the AH modeled the patient as a physical function of prescription, assessment, and consulting.
