Lastly, to assess potential effect modifications of prespecified characteristics on new vaccination by target group, we included target group-by-covariate interactions in logistic models and estimated standardized prevalence ratios (SPR) within each target group. We tested for homogeneity using Wald tests.

One such effort is the Retina Eye Care of Nepal (RECON) project, which was designed to strengthen retina eye care services in Nepal [2]. This initiative was a well-planned health education intervention targeting physicians’ knowledge about diabetic retinopathy. Evidence from the evaluation of this initiative identified an increase in the number of referrals and attendance of patients for diabetic retinopathy screening with the change in knowledge and referral mechanism [3].

Patients who became aware of the study through an online campaign and met the inclusion criteria (online prescreening questionnaire PHQ-8) had the opportunity to schedule an appointment at the Institute of General Practice and Family Medicine either through a publicly shared calendar or with the help of a telephone patient service. Study psychologists or medical physicians performed an informative consultation on the study appointment and repeated the inclusion criteria check.

Moreover, the health care workforce is aging across many EU countries as the baby boomer generation reaches retirement age. In 2021, nearly 40% of all physicians in the EU were aged ≥55 years [12].
This shortage is especially striking in the case of health care workers with training and expertise in the care of older adults [11]. In addition, there is significant heterogeneity in the practice and recognition of geriatric medicine as a medical specialty [13,14].

After providing informed consent and completing the baseline questionnaire, patients were randomly assigned in a 1:1 ratio to the control group (usual care) or the intervention group (usual care plus the Be Prepared m Health app) using a web-based randomization system. All patients received an automated email of their group allocation. Patients were aware of their group allocation, but researchers analyzing the data and health care professionals at the hospital were kept blinded to the allocation.

A recent study of patients with a diagnosis of schizophrenia, randomized to receive either Slow Mo, a blended digital therapy targeting reasoning, or usual care, found no significant difference between groups on the primary outcomes related to paranoia at 24 weeks (the primary end‐point) [33].
The project of mobile therapeutic attention for treatment-resistant schizophrenia (m-RESIST), funded by the Horizon 2020 Programme of the European Union, designed and developed a mobile therapeutic attention for TRS.

The study therefore comprises three arms: (1) a “toxin” group treated with an injection of botulinum toxin and placebo oral baclofen; (2) a “baclofen” group treated with oral baclofen and an injection of placebo botulinum toxin; and (3) a double “placebo” group treated with placebo oral baclofen and an injection of placebo botulinum toxin. The CONSORT (Consolidated Standards of Reporting Trials) flowchart in Figure 1 summarizes the enrollment and allocation of the participants.
