Erbe D et al [28] compared the interformat reliability of the paper-and-pen version with a computerized version of the PHQ-9 in a clinical sample and obtained comparable internal consistency between the computer (α=.88) and paper versions (α=.89), and highly significant correlations between the formats (r=0.92). The PANSS is a widely used and valid instrument for the assessment of symptom severity in schizophrenia; test-retest reliability for the total score and subscales is reported as 0.77‐0.89 [27,27].

The study is being supported by a grant from the Indian Council of Medical Research under its Intramural Research Projects (No. 79/3/IIRP-NICPR/Onco/2023-NCD-III). Funds for the study were received in February 2024. The timeline of the study is shown in Figure 2. Participant recruitment has been initiated at all sites. Staff recruitment and training in OVE has been conducted. Procurement of the autofluorescence device is in progress. All the study sites have begun conducting oral screening camps.
